Born and raised in Southern California, Brad Plowman lived for the sun, the surf, the beach, and all things L.A. sports. Some of his earliest childhood memories were attending USC football games and L.A. Dodgers baseball games at Chavez Ravine with his father and brothers. Despite living in Salt Lake today, he still finds passion in rooting for teams from Southern California.
While attending BYU, Brad’s desire was to become a game show host on television. However, a wise professor intervened (perhaps after seeing some of Brad’s early “in front of camera” footage) and taught him about the business side of media and television. Upon graduation from BYU, Brad worked in New York, Dallas, and eventually Salt Lake City in both television and radio management.
While in his late 20’s, Brad’s entrepreneur spirit took hold and he started a beef jerky company with a friend. Two years and many life lessons later, Brad sold his stake in the business and returned to management of radio stations with Clear Channel Broadcasting (now I Heart Media). In 2003, Brad and two colleagues left Clear Channel to open their own advertising/marketing firm: FUEL Marketing. Now in its 14th year, FUEL Marketing has grown to be a regional marketing firm with specialties in retail and health care. Some large regional brands such as Maverik Convenience Stores, VASA Fitness, University of Utah Athletics (yes, I get the irony of a BYU grad marketing UofU athletics), Iasis Healthcare, and Challenger Schools have grown exponentially under the marketing strategies developed by FUEL Marketing.
Brad has been married for 23 years and has three children-Noah, age 18, Tess, age 15, and Saige, age 13. Brad loves tennis, golf, wakeboarding/wake surfing, hiking, skiing, and, of course, rooting for his sports teams from down south.
